Royal Wedding Details and Schedules

Prince William and fiance Kate Middleton will have their Royal Wedding this coming April 29. Most of us have been to weddings of friends and relatives. Can you imagine what it would be like to plan the royal wedding? With an ordinary wedding, we just have the church and the reception. Just to give you an idea, I saw a simplified schedule of the wedding day. It's more complicated than it looks.

Royal Wedding Day details from unveiled.blogs.cnn.com
  • 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.: It will be announced whether William and Kate will take a new title. The decision will be made by the couple and the Queen
  • 8:30 a.m.: Guests will begin arriving at Westminster Abbey. Members of the general congregation and guests who arrive before 10 a.m. will use a side entrance known as the Great North Door
  • 10 a.m.: The VIPs start to arrive - Government officials first (both foreign and domestic), to be followed by royal families. Kate Middleton is set to arrive before the Royal Family
  • 10:40 a.m.-10:50 a.m.: The Royal Family will arrive, with the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh being the last of the family to enter the Abbey
  • 10:50-11:00: Bridesmaids arrive
  • 11:00 a.m.: Kate Middleton and her father will arrive (collective sigh/gasp!). Details about Kate's dress have not been released in-part because Kate wishes to surprise William (a traditional prerogative/superstition). The moment Kate steps out of the car, details about the dress, shoes and accessories will be released and distributed
  • The service will be officiated by the Dean of Westminster. As is tradition, the marriage will be solemnized by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Prince Charles played a huge role in selecting the music. Only Kate will wear a wedding band
  • 12:15 p.m. (approximately): Bells will ring as the couple exits the Abbey. A carriage procession will head to Buckingham Palace
  • 12:30-12:40 p.m.: Carriage procession will arrive at the Palace
  • 12:40 p.m.: Private family photographs will be taken inside Buckingham Palace - an official shot of the happy couple is expected to be released Saturday morning by 11 a.m.
  • 1:25 p.m.: The couple, the Queen and their families will appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace
  • 1:30 p.m. (precisely!): There will be a Royal Air Force fly-past
  • 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.: Approximately 300 guests will return to Buckingham Palace for dinner and dancing hosted by Prince Charles. The crowd will mostly be friends and family, particularly William and Kate's young friends. Speeches will take place

Justin Bieber Shouted "Hello Manila!" in his Malaysia Concert

Heard this on the radio this afternoon that Justin Bieber shouted "Hello Manila!" instead of "Hello Malaysia" in his Malaysia concert. As expected many Filipinos went nuts over this news. But I can't seem to find any reliable source that this really happened at the Justin Bieber Malaysia Concert. If I were the Malaysians I would flood the internet over this issue. Yet I didn't see any Malaysians in any of the social networks that Justin did said "Hello Manila".

Is it true that Justin Bieber Shouted "Hello Manila!" in his Malaysia Concert? For me, if it's not on youtube, facebook or twitter then it's most likely not true.

ABS-CBN Van Driver Sued for AJ Perez's Death

Finally the car driving the ABS-CBN van was sued by ABS-CBN according to Bong Osorio, ABS-CBN Corp. head of Corporate Communications. He said that the driver is not an employee of ABS-CBN but an employee of Southbend Express Services, Inc., a service contractor of ABS-CBN. The driver is sued for reckless imprudence that caused the death of AJ Perez and injured 4 others.

Base on some investigation I read and some images I saw on TV, it showed that the two ABS-CBN vans in convoy was overtaking a vegetable truck.  While the first van was able to successfully overtake, the second van was not able to. Unfortunately it was hit by an approaching PARTAS passenger bus before it could get back to its lane. This happened along McArthur highway in Barangay San Julian, Tarlac.

Any good driver would say that the van driver is at fault. He clearly was not able to estimate properly while overtaking. In tagalog "alanganin ang pagovertake niya." I'm not saying that the bus driver didn't do anything wrong. We all know that bus drivers here don't really care about approaching vehicles. But technically the responsibility of looking ahead to estimate the approaching vehicles lies with the one who is overtaking.

Willie Revillame Humiliates John Estrada Live on TV5's Willing Willie

Willie Revillame humiliated John Estrada when he called him live on Willing Willie's January 26, 2011 episode. He was mad about his two friends in showbiz which is John Estrada and Randy Santiago, who at that time is rumored to have a noontime show for ABS-CBN.

Even though they have their disagreement, John Estrada sent a text message to Willie on his 50th birthday last January 29, saying:

At panghuli di kami kaaway… Happy birthday! And tuwing sinasabi ko Lab u… mini-mean ko 'yon… Lab u Kapatid…"

John Estrada and Randy Santiago are now hosts of the new ABS-CBN noontime show "Happy Yipee Yehey"together with Toni Gonzaga and Mariel Rodriguez. But the new noontime show is not rating well, as Willie said it won't. Is he the cause? or is the show just not that good?

Here's Willing Willie's January 26, 2011Episode:

If you didn't catch all the words Willie said, here's the transcript of the phone conversation with John Estrada:

“Bakit? May noontime show na kayo dito, inaayos ko na saka aalis kayo. ang hirap sa inyo iiwanan nyo naman ako. Iniwan nyo na ko dati. Tandaan mo ‘to, hindi magri-rate yan. Tandaan mo yan. Ako nagsasabi sa ‘yo.”

“O ayan, sige bahala kayo! Hindi, ipaplug ko dito Eat Bulaga araw-araw. O bakit? Ito si John Estrada (addressing the studio audience) nag-uusap na raw sila. Ano? Nandito sa studio. Sandali. Ano?

“Kasi dapat may noontime show sila rito eh. Tapos bigla na namang lilipat na lang sa Channel ano na naman. Inaayos ko na tapos eto. Nakakasama kayo ng loob. Inaayos ko na lahat tapos bigla nyo naman akong iiwan na naman.”

“Ano?

Tama? (asking the audience)”

    The audience shouted, “Tama”.

    Willie Revillame addressing the audience:

“Ganon lang kasimple ang buhay, dapat totoo ka…. Guest natin sila, kelan ba guest natin si John? Sabado? Di na pupunta yan. Pipigilan na yan kasi Friday yata sila magsisimula dun eh. Di ba?”

Someone from the audience shouted, “Okay lang ‘yan! Dito na lang kami!”

Willie Revillame replied, “Oo kayo importante sa buhay ko”.

“Di ba? Alam nyo nag-meeting na kami eh. May noontime show dapat dito, Randy, John. Sasabihin ko sana ‘yung iba pang babae pero, tapos, masakit sa loob ko dahil inaayos ko na maayos sila rito. Tapos bigla silang inofferan ng Channel 2, nandun na naman sila sa Channel 2. Hay naku! Eat Bulaga tayo! Eat Bulaga tayo!”

Pilipinas Win Na Win will End on December 31

There have been rumors that ABS-CBN's Pilipinas Win na Win will soon end. Seems like that rumor has come true. ABS-CBN has confirmed that the five month old noontime show will stop by end of this year. The vacant timeslot will be temporarily be filled by the talent-search program Showtime.

Pilipinas Win na Win was premiered only last July 31, 2010 as Wowowee's replacement. They were suddenly forced to replace the show because of problems with its host Willie Revillame. The first batch of hosts for Pilipinas Win na Win were
Kris Aquino and Robin Padilla with some of Wowowee hosts like Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, at Pokwang.

Pilipinas Win na Win encountered a lot of criticism and problems with its five months. Robin and Mariel filed for indefinite leave because they suddenly got married. Kris Aquino was not helping the show so was asked to leave to make room for The Hitmakers, which composed by Rico J. Puno, Rey Valera, Nonoy Zuñiga, and Marco Sison. ABS-CBN was also trying out new faces like Janelle Jamer, Gee Canlas and K Brosas.

Lots of people will not agree with this but I think Pilipinas Win na Win was doomed from the beginning. Its boring and honestly not entertaining. I'm happy that ABS-CBN finally swallowed their pride and stopped the show. Showtime deserves the timeslots. It's fun to watch it has a catchy opening song. Everything in Pilipinas Win na Win seems not to live up to its predecessor, Wowowee. Hopefully "Showtime" will do better. And I think it would.

In a statement by Mr. Bong Osorio, Corporate Communication ng ABS-CBN, "Pilipinas Win na Win (PWNW) will have its last episode on December 31, 2010. The ABS-CBN management thanks the The Hitmakers, Valerie Concepcion, Kaye Brosas, and Pokwang, the PWNW production group and most important, its viewers for their support to the program. In the meantime, Showtime will occupy the slot left by PWNW. With its extended time, Showtime will continue to bring more great fun, and hope to Filipinos worldwide."

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao Dominated Antonio Margarito

The people's champ Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao has done it again. Dominating his 12-round fight against Mexican “Tijuana Tornado” Antonio Margarito. Pacquiao, dubbed the “Fighter of the Decade” wins his 8th world crown, the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) super welterweight title at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas with a unanimous decision  scoring 120-108, 118-110 and 119-109.

“He’s strong. I never expected him to be as strong as he was. He’s a very tough fighter. I can’t believe he took all those punches,” Pacquiao said in a Reuters report.

Margarito suffered severe cuts on his eyes early in the match, giving more advantage to the already leading Manny Pacquiao. The people's champ felt for the mexican and was trying to motion to call for a doctor to take a look at Margarito’s cuts. “There were really bad cuts in the eyes,” Pacquiao said. “Boxing is not for killing each other, you know.” Freddy Roach, Pacquiao’s trainer,  wished that the fight was halted. “We didn’t lose a round,” said Freddie Roach. “I wish they had stopped the fight. They probably ruined his (Margarito’s) career by not stopping the fight.”

Where are you Floyd Mayweather, Jr.? Why don't you fight Manny Pacquiao? The world needs this fight!

Manny Paquiao's 8 world titles in 8 weight classes:
WBC super welterweight crown
WBC flyweight title
International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior bantamweight title
Linear featherweight title
WBC junior lightweight title
WBC lightweight title
International Boxing Organization (IBO) junior welterweight title
World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title

Pacquiao now has 52 wins (with 38 KOs), 3 losses and 2 draws.

Young Manny Pacman Pacquiao as a Teenager

Saw these young and skinny Manny Pacman Pacquiao pictures by Gerhard Joren. He was said to be just 17 years old in these pictures. Like most unfortunate people in Philippine provinces, Manny went to Manila at the age of 14 to escape poverty and help his mother with 6 siblings in General Santos City, Mindanao.

There have been rumors that he started out as a "Panadero" or Baker or Pandesal Maker or Pandesal seller. Then became a boxer just like that. That's not true. Filipinos know so little about the history of Pacquiao. He started working different jobs, one of them is
construction. But even as a child Pacquiao loved boxing. So he later found himself training and boxing at LM Gym in Manila. He was said to turned pro when he was 16 around 1995, a light flyweight at just 106 lbs. Yes, at that age! Now you won't wonder why he's so strong in the ring.

Manny Pacquiao deserves every bit of what he has now. He has put so much hard-work and time to make his dreams into reality. Not like most people in poverty, who do not push themselves as hard as he did. Mabuhay ka Manny!

You can view more of young Manny Pacquiao's photos over at  Gerhard Joren's website.

Willie Revillame versus ABS-CBN

Yesterday, TV host Willie Revillame announced in a  movie press at Annabel’s Restaurant (Quezon City) with his lawyers Leonardo de Vera and Ferdinand Domingo: “I’m rescinding my contract with ABS-CBN,” Willie’s contract is good until Sept. 2011. This is his first time to come out in the open since he was said to be suspended Wowowee last May. Willie Revillame is ready to face ABS-CBN in court following his announcement to rescind his contract with the network. He even joked that he might start a new TV show titled "Willing Willie" or "Wil na Wil."
In a letter to Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez, ABS-CBN Chairman of the Board, signed by Willie and his lawyers, Willie said that his decision is justified by ABS-CBN’s breach of its obligations to him under his contract with the company “and its consequences which, according to their nature, should be in keeping with good faith, usage and law; and the unjust imposition of unauthorized penalties,” as follows:
1. Suspension without pay.

2. Unilateral cancellation of the Wowowee Program due to reason not attributable to me. The Wowowee Program became successful because of me, as the host/creative force. The ratings, in fact, fell because I was taken out as Host.

3. Unilateral downgrading of m y program from three (3) hours daily (Monday to Saturday) or eighteen (18) hours weekly to one (1) hour weekly or seventeen (17) hours less.

4. Being placed on probation to a weekly programs without assurance to reinstatement to daily programming.

5. Unilateral downgrading of my appearance from a “live” to a “pre-recorded” program, which constitutes prior restraint and censorship.

6. Due to 2 and 3 above, I was, and will be, deprived of my earning from “in-show” product endorsements which have become part of my compensation as a talent of the Company.

7. Deliberate sabotage of my image by the Company by airing, or allowing to be aired, destructive pieces against me, instead of promoting me as a talent of the company.

8. Abuse of right by the Company under a one-sided contract of adhesion, purposely intended to destroy my career and humiliate me, which is not in keeping with good faith, usage and law.

9. Refusing to salvage the Wowowee Program by reinstating me as Host when the rating started to decline with different trial hosts who did not generate the same viewership of 22-23 percent under my watch.

10. To continue to work under the proposed probation, censorship and prior restraint constitutes involuntary servitude.
But ABS-CBN insisted that Willie's contract is still effective until September of 2011 and was the one who violated his contract's behavioral provisions. He did in fact threatened the ABS-CBN management during the May 4, 2010 episode of Wowowee. He said that he would resign of the management does not fire a certain artist of the same network. ABS-CBN also said that Willie has no right to invalidate their contract because he was the one who violated it.

"ABS-CBN is the aggrieved party, and as such, is the only one that can decide to end the agreement."

Wowowee is Better than Pilipinas Win na Win!

The new noontime television program “Pilipinas Win Na Win” made its grand debut show on Saturday. “Pilipinas Win na Win” is hosted by Kris Aquino and action star Robin Padilla. Former “Wowowee” female hosts Pokwang, Valerie Concepcion and Mariel Rodriguez are also hosts on the new show.

During the show's first airing, the hosts revealed the many games and prizes in store for contestants. But even with all of this I can still feel something is missing. Maybe because the feel of “Pilipinas Win Na Win” still feels like “Wowowee.” As expected, management took advantage of the said relationship of
Robin and Mariel.

Personally, I hate the new show. I hate the show's name. I find it boring and the songs aren't even that catchy. The new hosts are not good and they don't even feel the song they're singing. And worst is they put Kris Aquino. I think her time as a game show host is over. She's so boring on the show. Even Robin is boring. They should have put "Showtime" as the noontime show instead. Or at least change the hosts! Then again, abs-cbn management knows best. I really wish everything goes well with the show.:)

How I wish Willie Revillame's Wowowee would return he would win in his fight with ABS-CBN.

Charice Pempengco will officially be on Glee Season 2

International Filipino pop star Charice Pempengco will officially booked an arc on season two of “Glee”. When that rumor began to spread late last month via her loose-lipped manager, the young Filipino singer shot down this rumor personally on Twitter, writing: "I just want to let you all know that it’s not true that I’m going to be on Glee. How I wish!" I guess her wish came true. Michael Ausiello confirms that the Filipino international singing sensation will actually
recur on season two of this Fox smash.

What role will she play? Charice will play a foreign exchange student whose talent causes Rachel (Lea Michele) a run for her money in glee club. What ever her character is, I just hope she will a Filipina on Glee.:)

Bieber is also rumored to be on Season 2 of Glee. Charice and Justin Bieber are two of the hottest teen pop stars right now. Both appeared on Oprah earlier this year. And it looks like Justin and Charice could once again find themselves making appearances on Glee.

What is a Jejemon?

Know anyone who types "jejeje" instead of "hehehe"? That's a Jejemon! Usually seen around social networking sites (Facebook, Friendster and Multiply) and texting, jejemons are individuals who are tYpFing LyK diZS jejejeje, making all people viewing their profile raise irritated. Normal people like us must make an effort just to read and understand "jejetyping". Deciphering their text would cause a lot of frustration and hair pulling. And these jejemons are spreading fast.

There has been also stereotyping on Filipinos on the term Jejemon. They say that Jejemons are trying-hard Filipino gangsters and

emos. And sometimes they define Jejemons as poor Filipinos who dress up as 'GaNgZtaHz' and use txt language.

Basically anyone with a low tolerance in correct punctuation, syntax and grammar. Jejemons are usually hated or hunted down to change their grammatical ways. There's even a hate page for jejemons on Facebook called Jejemon Haters and Jejemon Busters. More Jejemon definitions on urbandictionary.com. Jejemons are also featured in a GMA news show.

Charice Pempengco's Stardom and Her Upcoming Album

(Please view the full article if you do not see the video. Some browsers may have compatibility issues.)
Born and raised in the Philippines, Charice’s talent was encouraged by her mother, also a singer. By age 7, Charice started to compete in local contests. In 2007, a web fan began to post some of Charice’s performances on YouTube. These included the Filipino Talent show “Little Big Star” and the popular South Korean talent show “Star King.” She instantly became an internet sensation. This follows several appearances on American shows like the Ellen DeGeneres Show the Oprah Winfrey Show. With Oprah Saying
“You are a force to be reckoned with. That voice comes from something bigger than yourself.”

Then come a 15-time Grammy winning producer David Foster who invited Charice to perform on his David Foster and Friends PBS Show in Las Vegas alongside some of the biggest stars in the industry. Foster produced talents like Michael Bublé, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, and Josh Groban.

Charice went on to perform with Andrea Bocelli (“The Prayer”) in Tuscany and Celine Dion at her Madison Square Garden show in New York City. She also performed again on Oprah with the song “Note To God” written by multi-Grammy winning songwriter Diane Warren. Charice also had a featured role in the recent “Alvin and the Chipmunks” movie.

I first heard of Charice when she was invited to Oprah. When she started to sing with her “10 Decibel” voice the audience just opened their mouths. Reaching 13 million hits in YouTube and is still growing. In May 2010, Charice’s US debut Album is scheduled to be released on 143/Reprise Records with her single, “Pyramid” featuring labelmate Iyaz.

“I’m so proud of this record and feel so lucky that I had the chance to work with some of the best songwriters and producers out there. Every note and every word is right from my heart,” says Charice.

You can visit Charice's Website for more information or search Amazon.com for Charice

Karylle Padilla Tatlonghari 'Nip-Slip/Wardrobe Malfunction' Controversy

The controversial photo showed Philippine actress/singer Karylle Padilla Tatlonghari with one of her breasts exposed. In her interview with The Philippine Star, Karylle says that the photo was doctored. “Sometimes, you’re singing and you’re so in the moment that you become careless. And naisip ko lang, I was singing with Arnel Pineda and I was so happy. First time kong to be on the same stage with him, I was really singing. And sobrang pasalamat ko
talaga na I protected myself and wore something underneath,” she said to an interview.[ABS-CBN]

Marie Lozano, a TV Patrol segment host says “There was a wardrobe malfunction but not much was exposed coz karylle was wearing a nipple tape. Techically, no nip slip!” [Manila Bulletin] Whatever happened on that taping, the fact is that this issue is NOT TRUE! Unlike the Anne Curtis wardrobe malfunction, this one is flat out fake!

Anne Curtis Nipple Slip at ASAP XV in Boracay

Philippine actress-host Anne Curtis felt disrespected over the publication of the photo of her "wardrobe malfunction" in Boracay on tabloids and the spreading on the web like wild fire. "I really feel upset [that] it's coming out. Sana they had a little respect man lang," Curtis said in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News. While in taping on a dance performance in the ABS-CBN show ASAP 'XV when the right part of her top folded and accidentally showed her right breast. She was then wearing a
two piece bikini and performed a sort of back flip in the dance performance with Sam Milby which caused the wardrobe malfunction. Maybe if she had thought of wearing a nipple tape to protect her from this situations. I hope all Filipina celebs think for the worst case every time they perform in front of huge audiences.
