The people's champ Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao has done it again. Dominating his 12-round fight against Mexican “Tijuana Tornado” Antonio Margarito. Pacquiao, dubbed the “Fighter of the Decade” wins his 8th world crown, the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) super welterweight title at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas with a unanimous decision scoring 120-108, 118-110 and 119-109.
“He’s strong. I never expected him to be as strong as he was. He’s a very tough fighter. I can’t believe he took all those punches,” Pacquiao said in a Reuters report.
Margarito suffered severe cuts on his eyes early in the match, giving more advantage to the already leading Manny Pacquiao. The people's champ felt for the mexican and was trying to motion to call for a doctor to take a look at Margarito’s cuts. “There were really bad cuts in the eyes,” Pacquiao said. “Boxing is not for killing each other, you know.” Freddy Roach, Pacquiao’s trainer, wished that the fight was halted. “We didn’t lose a round,” said Freddie Roach. “I wish they had stopped the fight. They probably ruined his (Margarito’s) career by not stopping the fight.”
