No buttons to pop open here! Eva Longoria avoids another wardrobe malfunction in skin-tight dress

Minimalist: Eva Longoria looked elegant in a strapless black dress at the museum opening in Los Angeles
She may have experienced a wardrobe malfunction earlier in the week when her jacket popped open on David Letterman’s chat show, but last night Eva Longoria made sure her dress fitted like a glove.
The actress wore a well-fitting black strapless LBD while attending the opening party for an LA museum that recognises Mexican-American’s contribution to Southern Californian culture.
It was a far more modest look for the 36-year-old than the micro shorts and gaping jacket that she wore on Letterman’s show while promoting her new cookbook.
But despite her elegant ensemble at the the Inaugural Gala of La Plaza De Cultura Y Artes in Los Angeles yesterday, the museum opening still sparked controversy.
As glamorous stars such as Eva paid between $1,000 and $100,000 to attend, demonstrators stood outside protesting over the treatment of human remains found during the facility’s construction.
Native American protesters gathered with drums outside the gala following a statement that accused Los Angeles County officials of allowing the desecration of a historic cemetery where hundreds of people are believe to be buried.
A secretary for the Gabrieleno Band of Mission Indians said tribe members had pleaded with museum and county officials to delay the opening until an agreement could be reached on the restoration of the cemetery.

But museum representative Manuael Valencia said in an email that the celebration went well.
He said: ‘Everyone is celebrating the opening of LA Plaza. There have been no disruptions.’
Mexican American actress Longoria was also busy with another book signing at South Coast Plaza before last night's event.
After promoting Eva’s Kitchen: Cooking With Love For Family & Friends, she wrote on her Twitter page: ‘Thank you Orange County and everyone at South Coast Plaza! Most successful book signing yet!’
Earlier in the week she was discussing her cookbook on David Letterman’s Late Show when her jacket button popped open, almost exposing her chest.
The wardrobe mishap led to over four million views on YouTube.

Whoops! Eva Longoria's jacket button pops open while she's chatting to David Letterman on his Late Show
Even David Letterman asked where she was going when Eva Longoria walked onto his chat show set in a barely-there tuxedo, which ended up popping open.
‘That’s only part of a tuxedo’, the talk show host joked when the star arrived in hot pants and a low-cut jacket without anything underneath.
And she left Letterman almost speechless when the 36-year-old’s jacket button popped open, almost revealing her modesty.

She first shrieked ‘Oh my button!’ and then quickly covered her chest before turning to Letterman and saying: ‘I’m sorry… but you didn’t see anything.’
Letterman, 63, then joked: ‘Oh lord, we’re going to lose our liquor licence.'
But Eva wasn’t in New York City just to wow viewers with her killer legs and flawless figure, she was actually promoting her new cookbook.

The Desperate Housewives actress was talking about her book, titled Eva’s Kitchen: Cooking With Love For Family & Friends.
‘I could fillet a fish before I was seven,’ she boasted as she chatted to Letterman about her favourite dishes and culinary skills.
‘Yes, I cook. Half [of the recipes] are from my family, I grew up eating Mexican food and then American food, so there’s a mixture in the book.’
When asked what she loves to cook the most, she said: ‘Tortilla soup and I make really good guacamole.
‘You have to have good avocados [to make guacamole] and I put in onion, cilantro, and lemon and salt – but don’t add garlic or mayonnaise!’
After playing Gabrielle Solis on Desperate Housewives for the past seven years, Longoria also revealed that they are planning at least another two years on the show.
‘We’ve almost finished negotiating so we’ll be coming back with season eight and nine hopefully soon’, she said.
After filming her slot on the Late Show, the star wrote on her Twitter page: ‘Watch me tonight on Letterman at 11:35pm/10:30pm c! I am so excited.’

Pretty in pink: Eva Longoria arrived for an appearance on The Early Show this morning in New York to promote her new cookbook Eva's Kitchen
Eva Longoria maybe newly divorced but she is showing off her domestic goddess skills in her new cookbook.
The Desperate Housewives star looked delicious in pink as she arrived for an appearance on The Early Show this morning in New York.
The 36-year-old wore a capped sleeve shift dress that showed off her slender legs.
Toned legs: The actress stopped to sign autographs for fans who waited to catch a glimpse of the Latin beauty
She wore matching heels for the simple, but very effective look.
Eva made the visit to the breakfast show to promote her new book Eva's Kitchen: Cooking with Love for Family & Friends.
While there she whipped up a delicious fruit smoothie and recounted food stories.

She also brandished a rolling pin with a mischievous look on her face - maybe in reference to her ex-husband, basketball star Tony Parker.
Eager to promote her book, friends of Eva have been tweeting about the book.
Her friend Victoria Beckham sent a Twitpic of Eva today and wrote: 'I can't cook, but my friend can! Now even I can learn xvb'.
Kim Kardashian went one step further and tweeted a picture of her holding Eva's book.

Yummy: Kim Kardashian also sent a Twitpic of herself holding Eva's book

Later in the day she changed outfits and went for another simple ensemble of a black fitted mini dress and purple peep-toe shoes.
She arrived for another television appearance - this time at the Late Show with Letterman.
But it appears Eva's food enterprise is not going as well as she hoped and matters have reached boiling point.

Records filed last week show that Eva's restaurant Beso LL lost about $137,000 in February since filing for bankruptcy on January 6.
A hearing has been set this month to try to resolve matters.
Another issue that Eva has apparently resolved recently is the laser removal of her tattoo that commemorated her wedding to ex-husband Tony Parker.
The roman numerals tattoo showing the date 07/07/07 appears to have been taken off of her wrist going by recent pictures of her hand.

The couple appear to be smitten, and spent her birthday last month together at Disneyland, where they kissed and cuddled as they waited to go on the rides.
Longoria and her ex-husband Parker split suddenly in November amid allegations that San Antonio Spurs stars Parker had cheated on her with his team mate's wife. They divorced earlier this year.
