The annual Palarong Pambansa in the Philippines formally started at Tarlac Recreational Park in San Jose town on April 11, Sunday afternoon. Over 10,000 athletes, coaches and officials from all over the country is participating. It's a week-long sport festivities from April 11-17.
One of the country's leading telecommunication companies, Smart Communication, is in cooperation with the Palarong Pambansa 2010 organizers in transmitting results to the public. They will set up both 2G and 3G sites for internet and video calls to relay results and schedules. All real-time results will be posted on the DepEd Website (https://depedtfss.wikispaces.com/).
High school students will compete in the athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, chess, football, gymnastics (artistic and rhythmic), sepak takraw, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, archery and Arnis, among others. (AH/Sunnex) [Sunstar Manila]
